Tracey Daway is a photographer in training and budding storyteller who lives in Pottersville, Dominica.  She considers herself an early career conservationist, as she is part of the Dominica Marine Conservation Program working as a research fellow alongside Project CETI.  As the years went by her focus had been on English literature, which she studied at the Dominica State College.  During this period of time her writing and analytical capabilities grew to be even more exceptional from her experience as an intern at Create Caribbean.  Nurturing her writing and analytical skills over the years have been beneficial as she is currently working towards publishing a debut non fiction anthology of poems, essays and stories in 2024.  Recently, she was a participant in the Dominica 2023 Photojournalism camp created by The National Geographic Society with support from Project CETI.  Also, she is part of the Dominica Marine Conservation Program working as a research fellow alongside Project CETI.  She holds enormous appreciation for the environment, and one day she hopes to create a grassroots conservation start-up in Dominica.  She believes that the Earth is our home and we all need to care for it because it is a shared responsibility. Writing tales that advance knowledge and conservation of the natural world is my aim.

Artist Statement

I am a storyteller who uses pictures and words to create narratives. Every narrative is a journey, in my opinion, and a call to investigate and make a connection. My goals are to reveal the unknown, embrace the peculiar, and document my subjects’ unfiltered emotions. My intention is to write tales that advance knowledge and conservation of the natural environment.
